Sierra’s new #8835 185gr JHP Sports Master is a redesign of our original #8800. It has a smooth transition from the bearing surface to the ogive, and a rounder ogive profile, as well as a new hollow cavity in the nose. These new features have created a bullet that has given us a very good expansion quality and reliability from velocities associated with the 45ACP cartridge. It was originally designed for use from the 45ACP but can be used in others like the 45 Auto Rim and even the 45 Colt when certain conditions are met.

The line features a stacked hollow point bullet design with additional hollow point cavity. For the #9924, #9925, #9465 and #9820 a cannelure halfway up the shank locks the jacket to the core ensuring maximum weight retention and terminal expansion.
The #9820 was introduced in November 2015.

Designed for the hunter requiring accuracy, penetration and dependable expansion from a 44 Remington Magnum revolver, Sierra introduced the 180 grain #8600 in 1970. These bullets were upgraded with Sierra's PowerJacket in 1982. The dependable Jacketed Hollow Cavity and PowerJacket design makes these bullets extremely versatile. They are true magnum bullets, featuring a heavy jacket and 1 1/2% antimony core, yet they will expand reliably at 44 Special velocities. These bullets are extremely effective on up to deer-size game. Because these bullets have flat noses and cannelures, they may be roll-crimped for use in revolvers and all rifles with tubular magazines.

These Jacketed Hollow Point SportsMaster bullets are designed for high velocity and rapid expansion, and are suitable for all 38/357 cartridges used in handguns or rifles. Power Jacket skiving assures even upset, and Sierra's unique cavity ensures quick expansion. Tough enough to give good penetration, these bullets are a fitting choice for varmints through medium-sized game in 38 Special and 357 Magnum guns by matching bullet weight to the quarry. The cannelure is located for proper crimping for most 38/357 revolvers and rifles.
