Sierra Bullets® has partnered with SIG Sauer® to bring you the ultimate defense bullet line delivering optimal weight retention and expansion at all effective distances combined with Sierra’s world renowned accuracy. The line features a stacked hollow point bullet design with additional hollow point cavity. For the #9924, #9925, #9465 and #9820 a cannelure halfway up the shank locks the jacket to the core ensuring maximum weight retention and terminal expansion.
The #9820 was introduced in November 2015.

These bullets are designed to meet even the most demanding shooter's needs. This bullet was introduced in 1988. They provide rapid, controlled expansion for defensive use or on game up to large varmints at ranges out to 100 yards. Their unique design also produces excellent accuracy for competitive events. The International Practical Shooting Confederation shooter needs only 1100 fps muzzle velocity with the 150 grain #8430 bullet to make "major." One also can use any of these bullets in an "old timer," the 38-40 Winchester (38 WCF), made popular in both single-action revolvers and rifles for Cowboy Shooting. However, these bullets are not legal for competition. Special provisions may be required for crimping (since these bullets have no cannelure for roll crimping) and expanding ball size in reloading dies for the 38-40.
The #8430 was introduced in 1988.

These Jacketed Hollow Cavity SportsMaster bullets are designed for high velocity and rapid expansion, and are suitable for all 38/357 cartridges used in handguns or rifles. Power Jacket skiving assures even upset, and Sierra's unique cavity ensures quick expansion. Tough enough to give good penetration, these bullets are a fitting choice for varmints through medium-sized game in 38 Special and 357 Magnum guns by matching bullet weight to the quarry. Designed for Service Rifle competition in the M16A2/AR-15A2, our 22 caliber bullets have set an incredible number of new national records. With the introduction of the 80 grain #9390, the M16 family of rifles really became a force to be reckoned with in National Match competition. Because of its extreme length, the 80 grain MatchKing® requires a twist rate not slower than 1x8 inches. However, it must be seated to an OAL that requires single loading in the M16/AR-15 series.
