INFINITY VERSION 7 EXTERIOR BALLISTIC SOFTWARE

Sierra's INFINITY Exterior Ballistic Computer Software version 7 provides multiple trajectory charts and graphics, point blank range, calculate zero, uphill/downhill shooting, maximum range, minute of angle, profiled wind, improved atmospherics, revised print formats trajectory in mils and more. Easy to use Windows format makes INFINITY extremely user friendly. Bullet library includes all major bullet companies as well as ammunition companies and allows for addition of new and custom bullets. Renowned Sierra Ballistic Consultants Ted Almgren and Dr. Bill McDonald, who have written all Sierra Software since 1970, also wrote INFINITY 7. Both are retired Chief Scientists from a major aerospace company. This program is available in CD-Rom format only.  Interface and program architecture design by Rodney Korn. System requirements are: Windows® XP, Vista, 7, 8, or 10, 800x600 resolution, and 120MB hard drive space.   The program does much more than compute bullet trajectories. It contains a feature that computes the effects on the bullet trajectory of variations in firing conditions. For example, you can change altitude of the firing point, and compute the effect on the trajectory. Or you can change a wind condition; or muzzle velocity; or Ballistic Coefficient.  In fact, you can change any inputted firing condition or combination of conditions.  You can also graph the trajectory variations that result. Another key feature of the program is that it will calculate the point blank range of a cartridge for a game animal or silhouette target of any size (up to a vital zone of 30 inches - 7.62cm), for either of two cases. The first case is when you have already sighted in your gun for a certain zero range and you want to know how far out you can shoot at the target without holding high to compensate for the drop of the bullet. In the second case the program will tell you where to set your zero range in order to maximize the point blank range. The program also will tell you what happens when you first zero your gun in at a convenient shooting range, and then shoot at a target that is either uphill or downhill compared to the shooting range where you sighted in. In such a situation the bullet trajectory will be different compared to the trajectory at the range you used to zero in. The program calculates the differences in all the trajectory parameters for you. Another feature of the program will compute where your gun is zeroed if you know that it shoots high by a measured amount at a known range. Still another feature calculates the maximum range that a bullet can reach along a given slope angle. The slope angle can be chosen as positive (uphill), zero (level fire), or negative (downhill). This feature also calculates the elevation angle of the gun muzzle (referenced to level) for the bullet to reach the maximum range along the chosen slope.   Infinity Version 7 Ballistic Software Bullet Selection INFINITY handles up to five different active bullets at a time. The program stores a full inventory of bullets and cartridges offered by 15 manufacturers, both U.S. and foreign.  Each of the five active bullets can be selected from anywhere in the stored inventory list. A key feature of the program allows any one of several trajectory parameters to be compared among the five (or any smaller number) bullets that you select. You can compare remaining velocity, energy, drop, bullet path height, or crosswind drift. Both a list and a graph of these comparisons are provided by the program.  You can also create custom bullets and save the settings in the custom bullet database.  These custom settings function in the program the same way as the manufacturers bullets. You can save a modification of an existing bullet or create a custom bullet from scratch. The custom bullets database is handled separately from the manufacturer's database allowing future updates of the manufacturer's data without affecting your custom settings.   Infinity Version 7 Ballistic Software Range Card   INFINITY sets ranges of conditions for many of the data input fields to ensure that you only enter data, which will provide accurate and reasonable results. For each field that has conditions set, you can see these required ranges in the status bar in the bottom left of the main form. If you enter a value outside of these ranges, you will receive an error dialog box and you must return to that field and enter a value that is within the defined range.

These bullets are designed to meet even the most demanding shooter's needs. This bullet was introduced in 1988. They provide rapid, controlled expansion for defensive use or on game up to large varmints at ranges out to 100 yards. Their unique design also produces excellent accuracy for competitive events. The International Practical Shooting Confederation needs only 917 fps muzzle velocity with the 180 grain #8469 to make "major." These power factors are easily attained with the heavier bullets in the 10 mm Auto or 40 S&W. One also can use any of these bullets in an "old timer," the 38-40 Winchester (38 WCF), made popular in both single-action revolvers and rifles for Cowboy Shooting. However, these bullets are not legal for competition. Special provisions may be required for crimping (since these bullets have no cannelure for roll crimping) and expanding ball size in reloading dies for the 38-40. The #8460 was introduced in 1988. To order by phone, please call 1-888-223-3006 *Sierra Bullets does not sell any loaded ammunition. What you are purchasing are bullets only and will need to be loaded into ammunition in order to be fired from a firearm. Prices, specifications and availability are subject to change without notice. .22 CALIBER 55 GR. BLITZKING

For rifles, this bullet is designed for explosive expansion in varmints and small game and with accuracy characteristic of the MatchKing bullets. The nose tips of the bullets are made of a proprietary acetyl resin compound, and the sharp tips improve the ballistic coefficient over the traditional flat-base Spitzer bullet design. The 55 grain #1455 has a boat tail to further increase ballistic coefficient compared to a flat-base design in these bullet weights. All the BlitzKing bullets in 22 caliber are designed to be fired at muzzle velocities up to 4400 fps. For handguns, the BlitzKing bullets are especially effective in varmints and small game for the full range of centerfire cartridges in 22 caliber. They have outstanding accuracy, a flat trajectory and superb expansion in small animals even with the smaller-capacity cartridges. The 55 grain #1455 bullet are recommended for moderate-capacity cartridges, such as the 222 Remington and the 223 Remington in handguns. The #1455 was introduced in 1999.

For rifles, the 55 grain #1390 Hollow Point Boat Tail bullet has been designed for the shooter who prefers the rapid expansion characteristics of the hollow point design. This bullet delivers devastating expansion on varmints and small game, and in many rifles it routinely delivers match-grade accuracy, which are vital considerations for long-range varmint shooting. The large, open point makes this a very dependable bullet for all 22 centerfire cartridges, except the very smallest where case capacity limits muzzle velocities with 55 grain bullets. In handguns, this Hollow Point Boat Tail 55 grain #1390 bullet with its cavernous opening can be used for short-range varmint shooting in handguns chambering the 223 Remington or larger cartridges. This bullet is built with Sierra's high velocity design and is capable of extremely high accuracy. The #1390 was introduced in 1984.

For rifles, this is a high-velocity bullet designed to give precision accuracy with the explosive expansion of Sierra's Varminter-style construction. This bullet is at its best when fired from the larger-capacity cartridges, such as the 22-250 or 220 Swift in rifles with barrels having 1x14" twist rates, stabilizing easily for excellent long-range accuracy and effective expansion. Normally, 1x12" or faster twist rates work best for medium-capacity cases, such as the 223 Remington. These bullets are excellent for long-range varmint hunting. For handguns, although this bullet is of Hollow Point construction, we cannot recommend it for hunting purposes. This bullet has been very successful on half-size NRA Silhouette targets. The #1375 was introduced in 1984.

Designed for Service Rifle competition in the M16A2/AR-15A2, our 22 caliber bullets have set an incredible number of new national records. The 77 grain #9377 MatchKing® allows seating to an OAL that permits cartridges to be loaded into M16/AR15 magazines. While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts. The #9377 bullet is available in a cannelured version in box sizes of 500 (#9377G) or 50 (#9377GT). This bullet requires a barrel twist rate of 1×8” or faster.

    , , , ,
The 22 caliber 90 grain Hollow Point Boat Tail was created in response to the increasing demands of Long Range shooters. With the success of the AR-15/M16 rifles in Long Range competition, the need was felt to maximize the ballistic potential of these rifles. The 90 grain MatchKing® is the final product of a series of tests, covering both accuracy and exterior ballistics, to arrive at the best possible bullet for the Long Range competitor. Designed specifically for the .223 Remington / 5.56x45mm cartridge, the 90 MatchKing® is at equally at home in both Match and Service Rifles. Due to the inherent requirements for a bullet of this type, the 90 grain MatchKing® is intended for single loading, and is not intended to be fed from a magazine. Sierra recommends a 6.5” twist barrel for the #9290 22 cal 90 gr HPBT bullet when pushed at muzzle velocities lower than 2650 fps. In cartridges like the Valkyrie with muzzle velocities above 2650 fps, a 1x7” twist barrel will stabilize the bullet correctly.
