.284 Cal 197 Gr. HPBT MatchKing

    , ,
Sierra Bullets is proud to introduce a new addition to the legendary MatchKing® line. Shooters around the world will appreciate the accuracy and extreme long range performance of the 7mm 197 grain HPBT (#1997). A sleek 27 caliber elongated ogive and a final meplat reducing operation (pointing) provide an increased ballistic coefficient for optimal wind resistance and velocity retention. To ensure precise bullet to bore alignment, a unique bearing surface to ogive junction uses the same 1.5 degree angle commonly found in many match rifle chamber throats. While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz BlitzKing, or Varminter counterparts. This bullet requires a barrel twist rate of 1x7.5” or faster. This bullet was introduced in January 2017.

    .284 Cal 160 Gr. TMK

    , ,
Sierra has enhanced a segment of the MatchKing line by adding the acetal resin tip, thus crowning the Tipped MatchKing (TMK) bullet line. The major advantage of adding a tip to the bullet is the reduction of drag, producing a more favorable ballistic coefficient. Another benefit is reliable feeding in magazine fed firearms. While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts. The #7660 was introduced in November 2015.

    8mm 200 Gr. HPBT MatchKing

    , ,
This 8mm MatchKing® was added to Sierra's line in 2002. It provides European shooters with a world-class target bullet for this traditional and popular European caliber, and it fills a void for American shooters who favor cartridges in this caliber, such as the 8mm Remington Magnum and 8 x 57mm.

Uncannily accurate and reliable in every way, this bullet is an outstanding all-around choice for the 45 ACP in the field or on the range. Although a non-expanding design, it is a fine hunting bullet by virtue of its large frontal area and deep penetration, which also make it a fine choice for personal defense.

    .375 Cal 200 Gr. FN Pro-Hunter

    , ,
For rifles, this bullet is designed specifically for the 375 Winchester cartridge. It has Sierra's unique PowerJacket and provides outstanding terminal performance. Sierra's Power Jacket ensures positive but even expansion in conjunction with good penetration on medium to heavy game. The cannelure location is correct for crimping, and the flat point was designed for use in tubular magazines. This bullet is also very effective in the 375 H&H Magnum, but velocity should be kept around 2200 fps to avoid over-expansion in game. For handguns, although the bullet is designed for rifles chambered for the 375 Winchester cartridge, it quickly found a home in the 375 Super Magnum revolver. Thompson Center currently chambers the T/C Contender for the 375 Winchester as well. Designed for the modest velocities generated by 375 Winchester rifles, this bullet performs very well in a handgun. The large amount of exposed lead at the tip and the PowerJacket skiving assure quick, even expansion at all suggested velocities and ranges, making this bullet the best choice in this caliber for field use on game. Traditional Sierra accuracy assures success on medium to large game and silhouettes. The #2900 was introduced in 1987.

.25 Cal 87 Gr. SPT Varminter

    .25 Cal 70 Gr. BlitzKing

    , ,
Our 25cal 70gr BlitzKing #1605 was built for rapid expansion on small thin-skinned vermin. This performance comes from a precision made, thin match jacket, the same performance BlitzKings are known for. With the flat base, it also has potential as a precision match bullet with fans of the quarter bore that shoot closer ranges. It has potential from the 25-45 Sharps provided the magazine length is long enough for it to fit correctly and is also right at home in cartridges as fast as the 257 Weatherby Magnum. This bullet was introduced in 2011.

.284 Cal 160 Gr. HPBT GameKing

    , ,
The 160 grain #1925 Hollow Point Boat Tail is a true magnum bullet, being somewhat "tougher" than the #1920 for deeper penetration. Contrary to a usual assumption, this hollow point bullet is not particularly fragile. The nose opening is closed slightly to help retard initial upset, but even expansion is assured by four skives cut into the jacket. Of course, there is no exposed lead to be deformed in the magazine. The result is an excellent bullet for many big game applications. The 160 grain #1925 bullet is far too "hard" for hunting with a handgun. This bullet can be used in all 7mm cartridges for silhouettes and target shooting. The #1925 was introduced in 1988.
