.30 Caliber/7.62mm (.308) 180 gr. SPT

The 180 grain #2150 bullets has Sierra's unique double-tapered hunting jacket that has been field proven under all conceivable conditions. The 180 grain #2150 bullet should be used for medium and large game. This bullet is extremely accurate, providing an undeniable edge in the game fields. Reliable expansion and deep penetration blended with Sierra's classic Spitzer flatbase profile makes these the bullets of choice with many 30 caliber riflemen.

For handguns, Sierra's Pro-Hunter design is generally considered too "hard" for all but the most powerful of the 30 caliber handgun cartridges. Handguns chambered for the 308 Winchester cartridge or cartridges of similar size can use these bullets over maximum hunting loads at short range, providing bullet weight is matched to the size of the game. Due to their flat base design, Pro-Hunter bullets are an excellent choice for a cartridge with limited powder capacity and a short neck, because these bullets intrude into the powder space less than a boat tail.

Used in 30-06 @ 2720 fps on 450-500 lb cow elk last year...first shot hit the spine a little too far back (90 yrds)...anchored her...second shot hit the neck...lights out...very little fragmentation or meat damage...excellent performance...have made similar shots with other bullets and lost several pounds of meat...thanks sierra for a premium bullet at an honest price!

A fellow I load for used a 30-06 with 60-R22 to shoot a Minnesota whitetail. The rifle was sighted in at 2.5 inches high at 100 yards. Anyway the deer so far away his first shot hit by the deers feet. Deer turned and he held above the deers back and hit it in the left front shoulder. Recovered it in the right rear quarter. Perfect mushroom about half way back on the bullet. Didn't look like it had lost any of its weight. Great bullet for deer hunting.

Very accurate in my Howa .308, use the 180g with great success, can't go wrong, place the Bullet correctly and you have meat to take home.

shot a 6by5 bull last hunting season 2012 with a 180 prohunter out of a 300 weatherby, it went down like it was hit with Thors Hammer.

I have used this bullet on 2 cow elk with a 300 Winchester Magnum. Seated over 75 grains of RL-22. It always shot well, and the performance on game was outstanding. Both animals were at close range in the trees, and both went down immediately. This bullet is plenty tough up close.
