7 mm/.284 Caliber (.284) 150 gr. SBT

For rifles chambered in 7mm cartridges, this bullet has  the heavy, double-tapered Sierra jacket for hunting. The 150 grain #1913 Spitzer Boat Tail bullet is a little heavier and thus provides a high ballistic coefficient compared to the 140 grain bullet. It is an excellent choice as a lighter bullet in any of the 7mm magnum cartridges for use at medium to long ranges. Both bullets are superbly accurate and provide excellent expansion with good penetration on medium game at ranges to 500 yards.

In handguns the 150 grain #1913 bullet is considered too "tough" for smaller cartridges, such as the 7mm TCU and 7mm BR. However, these bullets are seeing much use in the Remington XP-100 chambered for the 7mm-08 Remington or in similar cartridge/handgun combinations for both target shooting and hunting applications. This bullet is a good choices when driven at 2500 fps or more for medium or large game at typical handgun ranges. Using this bullet for hunting is limited to muzzle velocities achievable with only a select few cartridge and handgun combinations, but no such restrictions apply to target use. This bullet can be used in all 7mm cartridges for target shooting.

The #1913 was introduced in 1987.

I have killed close to 20 deer and antelope combined using 140 Sierra Game Kings from my 7-08 and Rem. 280. All have been killed or put on the ground with one bullet. Game Kings fly and perform well! A+

I use these bullets in several caliber 7mm RM, 280, 7mm-08 and 7x57. Fact is they just flat out work. It doesn't matter if your punching paper or using them on game you get nice tight groups and DRT performance. I am a SIERRA user for life.

I started using Sierra bullets back in the 1970's. I began using the 165g SBT in my Remington 700 BDL in 30 06. In 1999, I had shoulder surgery and dropped down to the 150gr in my Remington Model Seven in 7mm08. Both bullets functioned flawlessly and most resulted in one shot kills. Thanks Sierra.

I have used this bullet in 7mm Rem Mag. I have killed 2 deer at 320 yards using these bullets and killed around 10 deer at 100 yards or less. Regardless of the range, I get quarter to golf ball size exit wounds and fresh deer meat.

Use this in my 7mm08 Marlin over RE15 powder. If I do my part it will stay under 1" @ 100yards all day long. The longest shot I've made was 389 yds on a whitetail that dropped in its tracks from devastating internal damage. The closest was about 5 yds. on a coyote with the same results as the whitetail ! Love my 7mm 150gr SBT's !!

My favorite medium game load for 7mm Rem. Mag. uses this bullet at about 3000 fps using IMR-4831. Accuracy is superb and I've taken 3 Pronghorn at 150 yards on the short end and 250 on the long end. All were immediate one shot kills with complete penetration on broadside shots, but I could tell the bullet was coming apart and I would probably switch to a 160 for anything larger than medium deer. For medium game though, this bullet is top notch.

The 150gn Game King with Superformance powder from my 280 Rem has outstanding long-rang accuracy. The ability to mushroom and penetrate the full width of the deer without falling to pieces makes for bang-flop hunting.
