.270 Caliber (.277) 90 gr. HPThis is the only 270 caliber Varminter rifle bullet in Sierra's line. This is a Hollow Point bullet with a flatbase and is very accurate in the full range of 270 caliber rifle cartridges. If you have a rifle in this caliber and varmints are on your agenda, this should be your bullet of choice. Light weight means less recoil, higher velocities and less fatigue. Sierra's traditional Hollow Point bullet accuracy and unfailing expansion on varmints and small game make this a favorite varmint bullet among hunters with 270 caliber rifles across the country.
In handguns of 270 caliber, the 90 grain #1800 Hollow Point bullet is the only Sierra bullet suited to hunting applications and can be used for all game up to deer. This bullet is also suitable for all target shooting, including National Rifle Association Hunter Pistol Silhouettes.
The #1800 was introduced in 1958.

|I am shooting this bullet in a 6.8SPC and it is a super performer. It is accurate enough to dispatch gophers to 200 yards and it has been used to harvest 3 deer from 15 to 80 yards. All 3 deer have been 1 shot kills with complete penetration on two. The deer with the recovered bullet was a 210 pound brute that went stiff legged and dropped where it stood. This is a fantastic short range thumper at 6.8 velocities and is easily the most accurate I've used.|
