6.5 mm/.264 Caliber (.264) 140 gr. SBT

This bullet is the best long-range hunting bullet in 6.5 mm caliber. Exceptional accuracy, excellent ballistic shape, and adequate weight for medium and heavy game make this a truly exceptional bullet. This bullet is at its best in country like the wide open western prairie where shots are long and conditions difficult. It has a flat trajectory, great ability to resist crosswinds and vertical winds, and high energy delivery downrange. The bullet performs very well from any 6.5 mm cartridge with medium to large powder capacity, but it is at its absolute best from magnum rifles with maximum hunting loads.

I load this Bullet, for 5 modern 6.5x55 rifles, a 6.5-06, a .264 winmag, and for the last few years in a custom built 6.5x300 WBY. In my Sako model 85 and Ruger1 rifles , 3 shots make one ragged small hole all others I developed the loads to produce sub 1/2 moa. On any deer or moose i have shot with them, they usually pancake on the spot, or travel less than 50 yards, leaving huge blood trails. For hunting IMO, they are the " King" of bullets.

I shoot this out of a 264 Winchester and it is as accurate as any and on game I will tell you. I shot a big northern whitetail in the woods at almost dark at 20 yards. Broadside through both shoulders and an exit hole the size of a quarter. I was impressed. For a cup jacket bullet that shoots like these do I thought was outstanding. As with any company there are good ones and not so good ones. I am not very impressed with their 117 25 caliber but I really like this one.

I have been using this bullet for nearly 30 years in my two 6.5X55 rifles built on 98 Mauser actions. At 2900 FPS I have no problem getting groups of 1/2' or less. I shot many deer on a NYS dairy farm in excess of 300 yds. When I do my part the bullet does its part and the deer don't go far. I just wish that Sierra would start producing it again.

Shoots extremely well in my light weight hunting rifle,(7.8lbs). It's a 6.5 OHC, a cartridge of my own design. Basically a 6.5 short mag off the 7mm WSM case not the 300 or 270. With a Lilja #2 contour barrel at 25" and H1000 powder, I get over 3150 fps, and if I do my part, the gun will shoot .4 to .6" groups routinely. I have taken two mule deer with, one at about 175 Yds, and one at 235 Yds. Neither one made it more than 30 Yds from impact, great deer bullet.
