Savage Long Range Hunter in 25-06. 50gr IMR4831 5 shot groups ,35 moa at 300 yards. 6 shots, 6 deer. Have had jacket failure at close range when impact velocity has been over 2700 fps. Deer never took another step. Other 5 deer took between 1 and 10 steps. For close range, the 120 HPBT is a harder bullet.

I've loaded this bullet for the past 10 years for a Kimber 84M Montana .257 Roberts to 2840 fps. I've killed six deer with this load, all one-shot instant kills, from 70 to 200 yards. Usually double lung shots with a good sized exit wound, also two shoulder shots. The bullet groups consistently between 0.75 - 1 MOA for three shots from the lightweight barrel.

I loaded this in a 25-06. It shot very well but I was disappointed in the on game performance. I shot a whitetail buck at 200 yards. It died but it hit the shoulder and the jacket split to the base and shed. I was not impressed. Needs to be a heavier jacket in the shank.

I shoot these out of my custom 250 Savage. I have shoot many whitetail deer with these bullets. I have never recovered a bullet, all were complete pass throughs even at the longer ranges; 200 + yards for this rifle. Accuracy has always been great. I average 3/4" groups at 100 yards. Excellent bullet!
