.25 Caliber (.257) 90 gr. HPBTThe 90 grain #1615 Hollow Point Boat Tail bullet was designed originally as a varmint bullet, but it has taken on an expanded role. This bullet is extremely accurate at all velocity levels, making it suitable for the entire range of 25 caliber cartridges. It will perform as a varmint bullet at high velocities, but it may also be used on medium game from smaller-capacity cartridges, such as the 250-3000 Savage and 257 Roberts.

I've used these years on coyotes and other varmits and performance is outstanding. Have never had a bullet exit a coyote yet.

I wrote this review at Midway USA. "This is another updated review of this bullet. We are getting deadly results on deer from 50 to over 200 yards. We are shooting a calculated ~3000 to ~3100 FPS. I recovered bullets on three of the five deer we shot this year. Maybe I should say parts of bullets. I have found the nose section of the bullet in tact in three of the five. I have found core separation, and the jacket base on three of the five. The bullet seems to be coming apart upon hitting ribs. The advantage of this is massive damage to the lungs and other vitals! ALL of the bullets energy is being transferred to the target, not the hill behind it! I have found the bullet parts, mostly jacket bases, under the hide on the "off" side of the shot. No blood trail to speak of, but it doesn't matter when they drop after two steps, and a back flip from the impact! I have no complaints. Just don't shoot for bone. Put it in the lungs and you won't be disappointed!" I would add that at extended ranges, I did not find the bullet, but I found an exit wound that was somewhere between expected and spectacular! Accuracy, as with every Sierra bullet I have every used, is from exceptional, to better then average, in EVERY 25-06 I shoot, depending on the load. This is my "go to" bullet for my 25-06 rifles! Hope this helps, Jeff

This bullet has proven to be extremely accurate in three of my 25-06's. It accounted for several whitetail deer during the 2012 season in East Texas. Has also proven to be deadly on hogs. I highly recommend it for all light to medium game when fired at 3400 fps or higher velocities.
