6mm .243 Caliber (.243) 80 gr. Blitz SBT
In rifles chambered for either the 6mm Remington or 243 Winchester cartridge, this 80 grain #1515 Blitz bullet is dependably frangible and has no peer as a varmint bullet at velocities delivered by these cartridges. The Sierra Spitzer boat tail shape assures a flat trajectory, good resistance to crosswinds and vertical winds, and high-energy delivery even at extreme ranges. Built at the request of numerous varmint shooters, this bullet will bring out the best in both a shooter and his rifle for all varmint hunting applications.
In handguns, the soft core and thin jacket of this 80 grain #1515 Blitz bullet will deliver positive expansion at handgun velocities together with the accuracy and ballistic efficiency of the famous Sierra boat tail shape.
The #1515 was introduced in 1994.

After trying around a dozen loads in my 6mm i finally found my load. 46 Grains of IMR 4350 pushing around 3100 FPS. Made a .6 inch group at a hundred yards. Forget the "trendy" bullets and just start with this one and save your money and time.

Used these for a few years prairie dog shooting. Rifle was a 1:12” twist barrel Ruger M77-VT. 243 Win caliber. Very explosive bullet. Once lined up a pair of jack rabbits at short of 400 yards. First one blew in half and one behind just disappeared in a red mist. Personally I’d consider the 80 grain Blitz bullet to be far to explosive for use on big game like deer. Sierra 100 grain Pro Hunter would be my top 6mm choice for thick skinned animals. One big advantage of the 80 grain Blitz #1515 is very low incidence of ricochets out in the fields shooting at coyote or Prairie Dogs. Bullets just fragment to pieces hitting ground.

This bullet is very accurate at 3,420 fps with Superformance powder out of my .243 win ( 26" custom Hart barrel). Shoots under half inch - awesome coyote load! I've killed 2 crows @ 270 yards and a coyote at 200 yards so far. Coyote dropped on the spot.

Loaded with IMR 4064 in 243 Win for my Tikka WT Hunter, shoots like a house afire. Unzipped a yote in a head on chest shot, stem to stern. Very accurate in my 1:10 barrel.

I have used the 80Blitz in 243, 6-284, ad now 6 Remington. Running 3500 in 6 Remington an 3600 in the 6-284 I used to have and it flat hammers coyotes at these high velocities with an exit hole being rare. Also shoots about like Match Kings.
