.22 Caliber (.224) High Velocity 55 gr. HPBT
For rifles, the 55 grain #1390 Hollow Point Boat Tail bullet has been designed for the shooter who prefers the rapid expansion characteristics of the hollow point design. This bullet delivers devastating expansion on varmints and small game, and in many rifles it routinely delivers match-grade accuracy, which are vital considerations for long-range varmint shooting. The large, open point makes this a very dependable bullet for all 22 centerfire cartridges, except the very smallest where case capacity limits muzzle velocities with 55 grain bullets.
In handguns, this Hollow Point Boat Tail 55 grain #1390 bullet with its cavernous opening can be used for short-range varmint shooting in handguns chambering the 223 Remington or larger cartridges. This bullet is built with Sierra's high velocity design and is capable of extremely high accuracy.
The #1390 was introduced in 1984.

Suprising performance from a bullet with a BIG hole in the end and a lowish BC. Half moa groups and tremendous knockdown on wallabies, fallow and pigs out to around 250-300 yards when on pest control. It punches well above what the figures suggest.

Easiest .5MOA I've ever loaded. These bullets are super accurate. Loaded these rounds over 22.6gr of N133 and Lapua cases. My Rem 700 SPS TAC will shoot .5 MOA all day long and they are pushing 2950fps

Shoot deer with these out of my Ruger american ranch 5.56/223. Shot 130 lb 7 point behind front shoulder bullet broke a rib going in lungs looked like they went through a blender and had a exit. Buck only went 30 yds. Love these bullets

1/2 moa is achievable if I do my part. Pushing these out of a 22-250 the squirrels turn to red mist. Never used them for anything but pest control. Have a few hundred waiting to be loaded up, and when those are gone I will most likely stick with these.

Very accurate bullet makes a good bullet for longer shots on coyotes and woodchucks 99% of the time it's bang flop. I get ΒΌ moa at 100 yards withem in the little 223 and 1/2" or better in others calibers. The Sierra Game Kings BTHP is my main hunting bullet in all my hunting rifles

I never used .223 rem on any big game ever. On 1/03/16 doe season here in Kansas, I shot a big fat doe and she was ran around 20 yards, and dropped. I am a believer of this bullet would take a deer down without any problem! RECAP (215 yards shown on the range finder, 17 MPH wind, 31 degree F.

New to the reloading field, not much to compare with. Out of the gate light load, IMR 3031 20.5gr est. 2800 ft/sec. 5 round group at about 75yrds. Less than .500 . No complaints with that. Looking forward to pushing it out there, and see how she handles 200 + yards.

Sierra 55 gr bullets are one of my to go to bullets for accuracy in 3 gun matches. Other brands work good for up close, but when you need accuracy at distance...Sierra bullets will get-r-done. No doubt. Wish I could get them to allow me to put a Sierra logo on my shirt.

Works great as reduced load for larger varmints in my Savage Axis 223 around my rural home. I'm limited to 140y shots. 13.2g Blue Dot yields 2600 fps. 3 shots in one small hole @ 50y. Stops tough coons, possums, skunks right now .
