    .22 Cal / 5.56mm 69 Gr. TMK

    , , , ,
Sierra has enhanced a segment of the MatchKing line by adding the acetal resin tip, thus crowning the Tipped MatchKing (TMK) bullet line. The major advantage of adding a tip to the bullet is the reduction of drag, producing a more favorable ballistic coefficient. Another benefit is reliable feeding in magazine fed firearms. While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts. The #7169 was introduced in January 2015. This bullet requires a barrel twist rate of 1x10” or faster.

.22 Cal 90 Gr. HPBT MatchKing

    , , ,
The 22 caliber 90 grain Hollow Point Boat Tail was created in response to the increasing demands of Long Range shooters. With the success of the AR-15/M16 rifles in Long Range competition, the need was felt to maximize the ballistic potential of these rifles. The 90 grain MatchKing® is the final product of a series of tests, covering both accuracy and exterior ballistics, to arrive at the best possible bullet for the Long Range competitor. Designed specifically for the .223 Remington / 5.56x45mm cartridge, the 90 MatchKing® is at equally at home in both Match and Service Rifles. Due to the inherent requirements for a bullet of this type, the 90 grain MatchKing® is intended for single loading, and is not intended to be fed from a magazine. Sierra recommends a 6.5” twist barrel for the #9290 22 cal 90 gr HPBT bullet when pushed at muzzle velocities lower than 2650 fps. In cartridges like the Valkyrie with muzzle velocities above 2650 fps, a 1x7” twist barrel will stabilize the bullet correctly.

.30 Cal 200 Gr. HPBT MatchKing

    , , , ,
Shooters around the world will appreciate the accuracy and extreme long range performance of the 30 Cal 200 grain HPBT (#2231). A sleek 27 caliber elongated ogive and a final meplat reducing operation (pointing) provide an increased ballistic coefficient for optimal wind resistance and velocity retention. To ensure precise bullet to bore alignment, a unique bearing surface to ogive junction uses the same 1.5 degree angle commonly found in many match rifle chamber throats. While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. MatchKings® are the pride of the Sierra bullet family, unmatched worldwide and truly world class in all respects. Competitive shooters have relied on the consistent accuracy of Sierra's MatchKings® for decades, resulting in a history of state, national and world records that is the envy of our competitors. In 1995, Sierra worked with military ordnance experts to produce a superior long-range bullet for the M21, M24 and M40A1 sniper systems. The result was the new 175 grain #2275 MatchKing® bullet. This bullet has also generated considerable interest among competitive Service Rifle match shooters. A higher ballistic coefficient compared to the 168 grain bullet (#2200) allows it to remain supersonic at 1000 yards when fired from 308/7.62mm caliber Service Rifles. Sierra MatchKing® bullets have set the standards worldwide for consistent accuracy in handguns as well as rifles. Sierra has enhanced a segment of the MatchKing line by adding the acetal resin tip, thus crowning the Tipped MatchKing (TMK) bullet line. The major advantage of adding a tip to the bullet is the reduction of drag, producing a more favorable ballistic coefficient. Due to the decades of dominance of our 168 grain MatchKing (#2200) in our .30 caliber bullet line, including it in the new Tipped MatchKing (TMK) bullet line was a natural choice. The 168 grain Tipped MatchKing (TMK) bullet is an excellent choice for F-Class (F Open) matches, as well as 3-Gun and various other competitions. Due to the ballistic advantage that the tip provides, the 168 Tipped MatchKing (TMK) will stay supersonic at 1,000 yards at normal .308 Winchester velocities, unlike its untipped counterpart. The major advantage of adding a tip to the bullet is the reduction of drag, producing a more favorable ballistic coefficient. The 175 grain 30 caliber MatchKing (#2275) was created to allow .308 Winchester shooters to stay supersonic at 1,000 yards. , , ,
Designed for Service Rifle competition in the M16A2/AR-15A2, our 22 caliber bullets have set an incredible number of new national records. With the introduction of the 80 grain #9390, the M16 family of rifles really became a force to be reckoned with in National Match competition. Because of its extreme length, the 80 grain MatchKing® requires a twist rate not slower than 1x8 inches. However, it must be seated to an OAL that requires single loading in the M16/AR-15 series. While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. .243 Cal 70 Gr. HPBT MatchKing

    , , ,
Designed specifically for record-breaking accuracy, the 70 grain MatchKing® quickly established itself as the bullet to beat in centerfire competitions out to 400 yards. With Sierra's traditional precision design, the #1505 HPBT gained wide and immediate acceptance. In handguns chambering 6mm cartridges, the 70 grain #1505 MatchKing® bullet, which was designed as a bench rest bullet, is suitable for targets out to medium range. This bullet has the famous MatchKing® qualities of precise concentricity and uniformity, and it delivers incredible accuracy. This bullet is an excellent choice for the NRA half-size silhouettes. The #1505 was introduced in 1974.

For rifles, these bullets are designed for explosive expansion in varmints and small game and with accuracy characteristic of the MatchKing bullets. The nose tips of these bullets are made of a proprietary acetyl resin compound, and the sharp tips improve the ballistic coefficient over the traditional flatbase spitzer bullet design. This bullet has a boat tail to further increase the ballistic coefficient. The jackets are thin for enhanced accuracy and explosive expansion, but are capable of withstanding high velocities. These bullets are designed to be fired at muzzle velocities up to 4000 fps. For handguns chambered in 6mm TCU, 6mm PPC, 6mm Benchrest Remington, these BlitzKing bullets are superbly accurate and have devastating expansion on varmints and small game at velocities achievable in these handgun cartridges in single-shot pistols. The #1507 was introduced in 1999.

Shooters around the world will appreciate the accuracy and extreme long range performance of our new 6mm 110 grain HPBT (#1575). Although MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities on varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts.
