For rifles, this high-velocity bullet is designed to give precision accuracy with the explosive expansion of Sierra’s Varminter-style construction. Although the bullet may prove to be somewhat “hard” at Hornet velocities, it can be extraordinarily accurate at these lower velocity levels.
For handguns, although this bullet is of hollow point construction, we cannot recommend them for hunting purposes. This bullet should be considered for ranges in excess of 125-150 yards. Also works very well as a target bullet.
The #1385 was introduced in 1984.

There are many different 9mm cartridges in the world, but not all of them use bullets of .355 inch diameter. Be sure that the handgun cartridge for which you are loading uses .355 inch diameter bullets.
The 115 grain #8110 bullets were originally introduced in the hollow cavity (JHC) design in 1970, but the design was changed in 1983 to the current hollow point (JHP) to enhance feeding in semi-auto pistols. The exterior of JHP bullets is completely covered by jacket, including the nose radius, for total reliability. Sierra's Power Jacket with skives enhances expansion in varmints at handgun velocities. Pure lead is used for the core to give good penetration with excellent expansion. The 115 grain #8110 bullets brings it's excellent qualities to the larger 9mm cartridges, such as the 9mm Luger (9x19 mm), 9x21 mm, 357 Sig, and 38 Super. Additionally, many top handgunners use the 115 grain bullets for their accuracy and reliability in target competitions. These bullets are truly exceptional in all respects.

These Jacketed Hollow Cavity SportsMaster bullets are designed for high velocity and rapid expansion, and are suitable for all 38/357 cartridges used in handguns or rifles. Tough enough to give good penetration, these bullets are a fitting choice for varmints through medium-sized game in 38 Special and 357 Magnum guns by matching bullet weight to the quarry. The 240 grain #8820 Jacketed Hollow Cavity SportsMaster bullet was introduced in 1977 in response to requests for a "standard" weight bullet for the 45 Colt cartridge. The skived PowerJacket was added in 1984, making this bullet an excellent choice for 45 Colt vintage or modern handguns. Vintage models usually had a .454 inch diameter bore. However, modern Colt, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Taurus, and most other handguns, including replicas of the Colt Single Action Army, will have barrels with a .451 inch bore. This bullet can be used in vintage 45 Colt handguns, but sizing cases may require special attention in older reloading dies. The 240 grain #8820 bullet has a cannelure for roll crimping, and it may be loaded into 45 Colt cartridges to be used in rifles with tubular magazines. This bullet is very effective for hunting because of the reliable expansion of the hollow cavity PowerJacket design and trademark Sierra accuracy. The reliable expansion characteristics of this bullet make it suitable for cartridges ranging from the 45 ACP up through moderate loads (up to 1400 fps) in the 454 Casull for either hunting or target competition.
