    10 MM 180 GR. JHP

    180 Gr.
    0.4
    , , , ,
These bullets are designed to meet even the most demanding shooter's needs. This bullet was introduced in 1988. They provide rapid, controlled expansion for defensive use or on game up to large varmints at ranges out to 100 yards. Their unique design also produces excellent accuracy for competitive events. The International Practical Shooting Confederation needs only 917 fps muzzle velocity with the 180 grain #8469 to make "major." These power factors are easily attained with the heavier bullets in the 10 mm Auto or 40 S&W. One also can use any of these bullets in an "old timer," the 38-40 Winchester (38 WCF), made popular in both single-action revolvers and rifles for Cowboy Shooting. However, these bullets are not legal for competition. Special provisions may be required for crimping (since these bullets have no cannelure for roll crimping) and expanding ball size in reloading dies for the 38-40. The #8460 was introduced in 1988. .22 CALIBER 40 GR. HORNET

    40 Gr.
    0.223
    , ,
For rifles, this bullet was formed with a thin-walled jacket and soft core in the traditional roundnose shape for cartridges such as the 22 Hornet, 22 K-Hornet, or 218 Bee at muzzle velocities in the 2600 to 2900 fps range. The thin jacket and rounded nose of this bullet provides outstanding accuracy and effective expansion on small varmints at these modest velocities. The bullet is ideal for barrels with 1x16” twist rates and muzzle velocities that require a “short” bullet for proper stability. It is also effective in rifles firing medium-capacity cartridges, such as the 222 Remington and 223 Remington, for target and varmint shooting at muzzle velocities up to 3500 fps. For handguns, this bullet with a thin jacket and lots of exposed lead is ideal for all centerfire cartridges in 22 caliber. It will range in expansion from being a varmint bullet at Hornet handgun velocities to an explosive “Blitz” style Varminter at 223 Remington velocities. The bullets with a round nose shape are capable of outstanding accuracy, especially at short to moderate ranges.

    , ,
For rifles, this high-velocity bullet is designed to give precision accuracy with the explosive expansion of Sierra's Varminter-style construction. Although the bullet may prove to be somewhat "hard" at Hornet velocities, it can be extraordinarily accurate at these lower velocity levels. For handguns, although this bullet is of hollow point construction, we cannot recommend them for hunting purposes. This bullet should be considered for ranges in excess of 125-150 yards. Also works very well as a target bullet. The #1385 was introduced in 1984.

For rifles, this bullet is designed for explosive expansion in varmints and small game and with accuracy characteristic of the MatchKing bullets. The nose tips of this bullet is made of a proprietary acetyl resin compound, and the sharp tips improve the ballistic coefficient over the traditional flat-base Spitzer bullet design. The 40 grain BlitzKing #1440 has a flat base. All the BlitzKing bullets in 22 caliber are designed to be fired at muzzle velocities up to 4400 fps. For handguns, the BlitzKing bullet is especially effective in varmints and small game for the full range of centerfire cartridges in 22 caliber. They have outstanding accuracy, a flat trajectory and superb expansion in small animals even with the smaller-capacity cartridges. The 40 grain #1440 bullet is recommended for smaller cartridges, such as the 22 Hornet up to the 222 Remington. The #1440 was introduced in 1999.

    , ,
In rifles, this bullet is fully capable of producing 1/4 minute of angle accuracy at velocities that would destroy most other bullets. The bullet has the Spitzer point shape and a flat base. This bullet style is the choice of many accomplished varmint hunters. It features precisely drawn jackets to assure pinpoint accuracy and reliable expansion, even at maximum ranges. This bullet is slightly "hard" at 222 or 223 Remington velocities, but are especially well suited for velocities from 22-250 and 220 Swift cartridges. For handguns, while capable of producing traditional Sierra accuracy, this bullet must be considered too "hard" at handgun velocities for anything other than target applications. If your handgun will produce velocities greater than 3000 fps at the muzzle, the 45 grain and 50 grain bullets could be used for hunting varmints out to moderate ranges, but will not have explosive expansion.

    50 Gr.

    , ,
If you shoot a rifle in 222 Remington or 223 Remington, this may be the ideal varmint bullet for you. This bullet is designed for the velocity levels typical of these two popular rifle cartridges to give maximum terminal performance. It can often give accuracy rivaling even our famous MatchKings. The sleek Sierra Spitzer point shape assures downrange performance. Designed for total frangibility upon impact, this lightly jacketed bullet should be used only in "conventional" twist rate barrels (1x12" or 1x14"). Use in fast twist rate barrels can result in bullet disintegration in mid-air! Designed for velocities below 3600 FPS, thin-jacketed and highly explosive, this can be one of the bullets for all 22 caliber centerfire handguns chambering medium-to-large-capacity cartridges for varmint hunting applications. Offering good expansion characteristics at all normal ranges with traditional Sierra match grade accuracy, this bullet may be an excellent choice for all but the smallest of the 22 centerfire cartridges. The Sierra Spitzer shape results in a high ballistic coefficient for flat trajectory, high energy retention downrange, and low sensitivity to crosswinds and vertical winds. The enhanced expansion characteristics on small animals make the Blitz the choice of knowledgeable handgunners the world over. The #1340 was introduced in 1978.

For rifles, the 52 grain #1410 bullet offers the shooter all the advantages of a boat tail design for 200 to 300 yard competition. In handguns chambering cartridges in 22 caliber, the 52 grain #1410 MatchKing® bullets often deliver superior accuracy in target competition. While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts. For rifles, this 55 grain #1355 Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail bullet was designed specifically to duplicate the military M193 bullet, and it is intended for use in semi-automatic rifles, such as the AR-15, M16 and Ruger Mini 14. It features an exceptionally heavy full metal jacket with a cannelure properly located for crimping and positive feeding. This is an excellent bullet for hunting varmints and small game where pelts are to be preserved. It should be loaded to medium velocities for this purpose. In handguns of 22 caliber, this is a non-expanding bullet that will minimize damage to pelts as well as meat in small game. It is best used at medium handgun velocities to prevent tumbling upon impact. It is an ideal choice for the trapper or pelt hunter with a handgun in a 22 centerfire caliber. The #1355 was introduced in 1985.

For rifles, the 55 grain #1390 Hollow Point Boat Tail bullet has been designed for the shooter who prefers the rapid expansion characteristics of the hollow point design. This bullet delivers devastating expansion on varmints and small game, and in many rifles it routinely delivers match-grade accuracy, which are vital considerations for long-range varmint shooting. The large, open point makes this a very dependable bullet for all 22 centerfire cartridges, except the very smallest where case capacity limits muzzle velocities with 55 grain bullets. In handguns, this Hollow Point Boat Tail 55 grain #1390 bullet with its cavernous opening can be used for short-range varmint shooting in handguns chambering the 223 Remington or larger cartridges. This bullet is built with Sierra's high velocity design and is capable of extremely high accuracy. The #1390 was introduced in 1984.

    , ,
In rifles chambering 22 caliber cartridges of moderate to large powder capacity, this famous bullet is perhaps the most efficient 22 caliber bullet available for varmints at long range or targets. The spitzer boat tail design provides exceptional accuracy and a flat trajectory. The high ballistic coefficient of this bullet provides less sensitivity to crosswinds and vertical winds and greater retained velocity and energy downrange. It is an excellent choice for most 22 centerfire cartridges but is at its best in the 22-250, 220 Swift, and similar high-velocity cartridges. For target shooting purposes this 55 grain spitzer boat tail has been surpassed by the heavier MatchKing bullets in 22 caliber, but in many rifles it delivers match-grade accuracy. For handguns, because it has the Sierra high velocity construction, this bullet is too "hard" to be recommended for hunting applications. However, it features the famous Sierra accuracy and is certainly an excellent choice for long-range accuracy under all conditions. If a boat tail bullet with extremely high accuracy fits your needs for target shooting, then this bullet should be your choice. The #1365 was introduced in 1980.

Sierra has enhanced a segment of the MatchKing line by adding the acetal resin tip, thus crowning the Tipped MatchKing (TMK) bullet line. The major advantage of adding a tip to the bullet is the reduction of drag, producing a more favorable ballistic coefficient. Another benefit is reliable feeding in magazine fed firearms. The introduction of the 60 Gr. TMK helped to fill a gap in the 22 caliber Match bullet offering. For rifles, this is a high-velocity bullet designed to give precision accuracy with the explosive expansion of Sierra's Varminter-style construction. This bullet is at its best when fired from the larger-capacity cartridges, such as the 22-250 or 220 Swift in rifles with barrels having 1x14" twist rates, stabilizing easily for excellent long-range accuracy and effective expansion. Normally, 1x12" or faster twist rates work best for medium-capacity cases, such as the 223 Remington. These bullets are excellent for long-range varmint hunting. For handguns, although this bullet is of Hollow Point construction, we cannot recommend it for hunting purposes. This bullet has been very successful on half-size NRA Silhouette targets. In rifles, the semi-point design allows this style of bullet to expand faster than a spitzer style due to a generous amount of exposed lead at the tip and the slightly larger opening in the jacket. Capable of outstanding accuracy, this bullet can be an excellent choice for varmints and small game in many early 22 centerfire rifles, which have slower twist rates than those commonly used today. The Semi-Point shape reduces bullet length for a given weight, making the bullet easier to stabilize. The penalty is that a Semi-Pointed bullet has a lower ballistic coefficient than a Spitzer-pointed bullet of the same weight. This bullet can also be used in modern rifles with faster twist rates. In handguns, because of the velocity constraints caused by short barrels, the primary usefulness of a semi-point bullet design is in cases where the twist rate may not be adequate to produce the best accuracy with a spitzer bullet. The relative shortness of the semi-point design can improve bullet stabilization and accuracy. This bullet will not give explosive expansion at longer ranges, but due to the wide jacket opening and generous exposed lead tip can be useful at shorter ranges for fur bearers whose pelts are to be preserved.

The #7169 was introduced in January 2015. This bullet requires a barrel twist rate of 1x10” or faster.

Designed for Service Rifle competition in the M16A2/AR-15A2, our 22 caliber bullets have set an incredible number of new national records. With the introduction of the 80 grain #9390, the M16 family of rifles really became a force to be reckoned with in National Match competition. Because of its extreme length, the 80 grain MatchKing® requires a twist rate not slower than 1x8 inches. However, it must be seated to an OAL that requires single loading in the M16/AR-15 series. The 22 caliber 90 grain Hollow Point Boat Tail was created in response to the increasing demands of Long Range shooters. With the success of the AR-15/M16 rifles in Long Range competition, the need was felt to maximize the ballistic potential of these rifles. The 90 grain MatchKing® is the final product of a series of tests, covering both accuracy and exterior ballistics, to arrive at the best possible bullet for the Long Range competitor. Designed specifically for the .223 Remington / 5.56x45mm cartridge, the 90 MatchKing® is at equally at home in both Match and Service Rifles. Due to the inherent requirements for a bullet of this type, the 90 grain MatchKing® is intended for single loading, and is not intended to be fed from a magazine. Sierra recommends a 6.5” twist barrel for the #9290 22 cal 90 gr HPBT bullet when pushed at muzzle velocities lower than 2650 fps. In cartridges like the Valkyrie with muzzle velocities above 2650 fps, a 1x7” twist barrel will stabilize the bullet correctly.

For rifles chambered in 6mm cartridges, the #1530 85 grain hollow point boat tail bullet has proven to be highly effective on medium game, such as deer and antelope, and it is outstanding in this application. It is one of the best all-around bullets for rifles chambered in 6mm Remington or 243 Winchester. It is one of the most recommended bullets for varmints such as prairie dogs, groundhogs, coyotes, to medium game such as deer and antelope. Shooters using any rifle in the entire range of 6mm cartridges will find this to be an excellent bullet. This bullet shoots like a MatchKing and expands like a hunting bullet. In handguns, the 85 grain #1530 Hollow Point Boat Tail bullet is nearly ideal for all shooting applications. In cartridges from the 6mm BR up to the larger wildcats chambered in the Remington XP-100 and other strong single-shot handguns, this may be the best single bullet. When used with smaller-capacity cases at close range it would be suitable for varmints. This is a fairly "hard" bullet when fired from a handgun but a good choice for most applications and conditions.

Suitable for all 6.5 cartridges and extremely effective on all sizes of varmints, the #1710 is a great choice for the 264 Winchester Magnum. Quarter minute of angle accuracy is quite common, even from the 264 magnum cartridges. It is equally accurate in cartridges with smaller case capacities. For handguns, both bullets are excellent choices for TCU size cartridges and target or varmint applications. The 100 grain #1710 can be used for up to medium-sized game. Shooters will enjoy these bullets' excellent accuracy, but will find them too light for full-size silhouettes. The #1710 was introduced in 1960.

The Spitzer shape of this 120 grain #1720 bullet assures excellent downrange performance and precise accuracy. This bullet will perform well at longer ranges on medium game from the 264 Winchester Magnum and the 6.5x284 cartridges, but it will be too fragile for close-range shots. It is an excellent all-around bullet for smaller capacity 6.5mm cartridges. While this bullet is generally considered too "hard" for handgun hunting situations, the 120 grain #1720 bullet would be a good choice for medium game at short ranges. It is best used in 6.5mm cartridge cases with powder capacity equal to the 223 Remington or larger and loaded to maximum velocities. It has been said that a prairie dog shooter learns more about his rifle, cartridge and scope in one day than a deer hunter can learn in a lifetime. The 100 grain Hollow Point #1895 bullet allows off-season practice on varmints with any 7mm hunting rifle. This light, thin-jacketed bullet is exceptionally accurate, and the large hollow point makes it devastatingly effective on all varmints. Effective in cartridges ranging from the diminutive 7mm BR to the potent 7mm magnums, the lightweight of this bullet allows high velocity with low recoil for maximum enjoyment. It is accurate enough for use in Hunter Benchrest competition, and it is suitable for all standard 7mm barrel twist rates. In handguns, the 100 grain #1895 Hollow Point bullet is a light bullet for the varmint and small game hunter, and should be used for any application that requires certain expansion. This is the lightest 7mm caliber bullet currently available, and the high velocity coupled with Sierra's large hollow point makes it unbeatable for fast, reliable expansion and pinpoint accuracy. Although best restricted to coyote and smaller-sized game, it could be used for small deer with proper shot placement. It is too light weight for serious use for full-size silhouettes but excellent for other target applications. The #1895 was introduced in 1988.

For rifles chambered in 7mm cartridges, this bullet has the heavy, double-tapered Sierra jacket for hunting.. The #1905 bullet is recommended for all 7mm cartridges. It is an excellent choice as a lighter bullet in any of the 7mm magnum cartridges for use at medium to long ranges. In handguns, the 140 grain #1905 is considered too "tough" for smaller cartridges, such as the 7mm TCU and 7mm BR. However, this bullet is seeing much use in the Remington XP-100 chambered for the 7mm-08 Remington or in similar cartridge/handgun combinations for both target shooting and hunting applications. This bullet is a good choice when driven at 2500 fps or more for medium or large game at typical handgun ranges. It is suggested for ranges out to 450 yards and is an excellent all-around hunting bullet. In handguns, the 140 grain #1910 bullet is generally considered too "hard" for TCU size cartridges, but this bullet could be a good choice for large game, such as elk, when used in a Remington XP-100 handgun in 7mm-08 Remington or a similar handgun and cartridge at short ranges. Good ballistic shape and traditional Sierra accuracy make this bullet an excellent choice for all target work. The pinpoint accuracy of this bullet makes it a good choice for both varmints and target competition.

Customers have been asking us for years to make a 6.5 mm and 7 mm version of our very popular 30 caliber 165 grain HPBT GameKing and we are happy to say we have fulfilled that request. Just like their 30 caliber cousin, these bullets will be ideal for midsized game with standard and magnum calibers. The thicker jacket promotes deep penetration while the skives at the meplat provide reliable expansion.

The 150 grain #1915 bullet has a large following in rifle silhouette competition, especially for the first three banks, chickens, pigs and turkeys. This bullet also has a loyal following in Hunter Benchrest target shooting. In handguns, this bullet has been used widely for handgun silhouettes and other target competitions. They deliver outstanding accuracy, high momentum downrange, and low sensitivity to crosswinds.

For rifles chambered in 7mm cartridges, this bullet has the heavy, double-tapered Sierra jacket for hunting. The 150 grain #1913 Spitzer Boat Tail bullet is a little heavier and thus provides a high ballistic coefficient compared to the 140 grain bullet. It is an excellent choice as a lighter bullet in any of the 7mm magnum cartridges for use at medium to long ranges. Both bullets are superbly accurate and provide excellent expansion with good penetration on medium game at ranges to 500 yards. In handguns the 150 grain #1913 bullet is considered too "tough" for smaller cartridges, such as the 7mm TCU and 7mm BR. However, these bullets are seeing much use in the Remington XP-100 chambered for the 7mm-08 Remington or in similar cartridge/handgun combinations for both target shooting and hunting applications. This bullet is a good choices when driven at 2500 fps or more for medium or large game at typical handgun ranges. Using this bullet for hunting is limited to muzzle velocities achievable with only a select few cartridge and handgun combinations, but no such restrictions apply to target use. This bullet can be used in all 7mm cartridges for target shooting. The #1913 was introduced in 1987.

The 160 grain #1925 Hollow Point Boat Tail is a true magnum bullet, being somewhat "tougher" than the #1920 for deeper penetration. Contrary to a usual assumption, this hollow point bullet is not particularly fragile. The nose opening is closed slightly to help retard initial upset, but even expansion is assured by four skives cut into the jacket. Of course, there is no exposed lead to be deformed in the magazine. The result is an excellent bullet for many big game applications. The 160 grain #1925 bullet is far too "hard" for hunting with a handgun. This bullet can be used in all 7mm cartridges for silhouettes and target shooting. The #1925 was introduced in 1988.

It has a heavy, double-tapered jacket and a special alloy core to ensure deep penetration and good expansion on the heaviest North American game and on heavy African plains game. It is also used successfully in centerfire rifle silhouette matches. In handguns, the 175 grain #1940 bullet is recommended for hunting only in cartridges like the 7mm-08 Remington in the Remington XP-100 single-shot handgun, which can push this bullet at a muzzle velocity of 2300 fps. In rifles, this bullet was designed for the venerable 30-30 Winchester cartridge, and features a jacket tailored specifically to 30-30 velocities. The cannelure on each bullet is precisely located to provide the proper over-all-length (OAL) for fast, trouble-free feeding. The bullet weight performs admirably on deer-sized game and is suitable for varmints as well. PowerJacket construction assures reliable expansion with good penetration. Though designed for the 30-30 cartridge, the use of these bullets is not restricted to that cartridge. In fact, these bullets are very effective in any 30 caliber cartridge if a muzzle velocity level of 2500 to 2600 fps is not exceeded. In handguns, this bullet is suitable for some cartridges because they were designed for the velocities of the venerable 30-30 Winchester cartridge. Specifically, this bullet is suitable for any handgun cartridge that will produce 2200 to 2500 fps at the muzzle. They are suitable for all game, from varmints to large game, such as elk, if the bullet weight is matched to game weight. These are short-range bullets due to their nose design and will be suitable only when maximum ranges do not exceed 125 to 150 yards. Sierra's unique Power Jacket design assures uniform bullet upset and expansion at this velocity level with traditional Sierra accuracy.

The 125 grain #2120 has a medium-weight tapered jacket. It is very destructive at high velocity and is an excellent long-range varmint bullet. When loaded to medium velocity, it is an excellent low-recoil hunting bullet suited to medium game. The #2120 bullet is especially well suited to Hunter Benchrest, where it has become very popular. Reliable expansion and deep penetration blended with Sierra's classic Spitzer flatbase profile makes these the bullets of choice with many 30 caliber riflemen. For handguns, Sierra's Pro-Hunter design is generally considered too "hard" for all but the most powerful of the 30 caliber handgun cartridges. The #2120 can be used for medium game at 30-30 level velocities when loaded at or near maximum levels. This is an excellent target bullet and has been used with great success. The 125 grain #2120 bullet will prove too light for the 200-meter rams in Handgun Silhouettes, but is a good choice for the smaller, lighter chickens, turkeys and pigs. Due to their flat base design, Pro-Hunter bullets are an excellent choice for a cartridge with limited powder capacity and a short neck, because these bullets intrude into the powder space less than a boat tail.

MatchKings® are the pride of the Sierra bullet family, unmatched worldwide and truly world class in all respects. Competitive shooters have relied on the consistent accuracy of Sierra's MatchKings® for decades, resulting in a history of state, national and world records that is the envy of our competitors. Originally designed and developed for 300 meter international matches, the 150 grain #2190 was introduced in the late 1950s. Their first major competitive match was in the 1959 Pan American Games. Sierra MatchKing® bullets have set the standards worldwide for consistent accuracy in handguns as well as rifles. Since the introduction of the high performance Remington XP-100 and similar handguns chambering larger rifle cartridges, all 30 caliber MatchKings have been used in handgun silhouettes and long-range target competitions. Sierra's famous MatchKing® design assures superb accuracy, flat trajectory, and high momentum delivery with low sensitivity to crosswinds at all ranges.
