.45 Cal 300 Gr. JSP Sports Master

    , , , ,
Designed for hunting, specifically for large bears, and for Handgun Metallic Silhouette competition with magnum calibers, this 300 grain #8830 Jacketed Soft Point bullet was introduced in 2004. Its construction ensures deep penetration on the largest game due to a heavy jacket and extremely hard 6% / 4% core. This is the heaviest bullet Sierra produces in the 45cal pistol lineup and should be used in a 45 Colt if penetration is a must, and it can work in the 454 Casull or similar cartridges easily. It has an established reputation in the game fields of North America and is considered to be the bullet for hunting dangerous game with a handgun. It is not, however, recommended for deer-size game because of its hardness. Because this bullet has a cannelure and can be roll-crimped, it may be loaded in cartridges and used in modern rifles with tubular magazines. When seated to the cannelure, this bullet can have an overall length that may not feed well in some lever action rifles with a shorter carrier. Recommended OAL of 1.650” in the 45 Colt and 1.755” in the 454 Casull.

10mm 150 Gr. JHP Sports Master

    , , , , ,
These bullets are designed to meet even the most demanding shooter's needs. This bullet was introduced in 1988. They provide rapid, controlled expansion for defensive use or on game up to large varmints at ranges out to 100 yards. Their unique design also produces excellent accuracy for competitive events. The International Practical Shooting Confederation shooter needs only 1100 fps muzzle velocity with the 150 grain #8430 bullet to make "major." One also can use any of these bullets in an "old timer," the 38-40 Winchester (38 WCF), made popular in both single-action revolvers and rifles for Cowboy Shooting. However, these bullets are not legal for competition. Special provisions may be required for crimping (since these bullets have no cannelure for roll crimping) and expanding ball size in reloading dies for the 38-40. The #8430 was introduced in 1988. To order by phone, please call 1-888-223-3006 *Sierra Bullets does not sell any loaded ammunition. What you are purchasing are bullets only and will need to be loaded into ammunition in order to be fired from a firearm. Prices, specifications and availability are subject to change without notice. These bullets are designed to meet even the most demanding shooter's needs. This bullet was introduced in 1992. The International Practical Shooting Confederation needs only 1000 fps muzzle velocity with the 165 grain #8445 to make "major." These power factors are easily attained with the heavier bullets in the 10mm Auto or 40 S&W. One also can use any of these bullets in an "old timer," the 38-40 Winchester (38 WCF), made popular in both single-action revolvers and rifles for Cowboy Shooting. .45 Cal 240 Gr. JHC Sports Master

    , , ,
The 240 grain #8820 Jacketed Hollow Cavity SportsMaster bullet was introduced in 1977 in response to requests for a "standard" weight bullet for the 45 Colt cartridge. The skived PowerJacket was added in 1984, making this bullet an excellent choice for 45 Colt vintage or modern handguns. Vintage models usually had a .454 inch diameter bore. However, modern Colt, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Taurus, and most other handguns, including replicas of the Colt Single Action Army, will have barrels with a .451 inch bore. This bullet can be used in vintage 45 Colt handguns, but sizing cases may require special attention in older reloading dies. The 240 grain #8820 bullet has a cannelure for roll crimping, and it may be loaded into 45 Colt cartridges to be used in rifles with tubular magazines. This bullet is very effective for hunting because of the reliable expansion of the hollow cavity PowerJacket design and trademark Sierra accuracy. The reliable expansion characteristics of this bullet make it suitable for cartridges ranging from the 45 ACP up through moderate loads (up to 1400 fps) in the 454 Casull for either hunting or target competition. To order by phone, please call 1-888-223-3006 *Sierra Bullets does not sell any loaded ammunition. What you are purchasing are bullets only and will need to be loaded into ammunition in order to be fired from a firearm. Prices, specifications and availability are subject to change without notice. 8mm 200 Gr. HPBT MatchKing

    , ,
This 8mm MatchKing® was added to Sierra's line in 2002. It provides European shooters with a world-class target bullet for this traditional and popular European caliber, and it fills a void for American shooters who favor cartridges in this caliber, such as the 8mm Remington Magnum and 8 x 57mm. While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts.

.45 Cal 230 Gr. FMJ Tournament Master

    , , ,
This 230 grain #8815 Full Metal Jacket Match TournamentMaster bullet introduced in 1980, was designed to duplicate the positive feed and function of the "hardball" loads in the 45 ACP cartridge. As with all Sierra bullets designed for the 45 ACP, reliable feeding is an absolute requirement. Uncannily accurate and reliable in every way, this bullet is an outstanding all-around choice for the 45 ACP in the field or on the range. Although a non-expanding design, it is a fine hunting bullet by virtue of its large frontal area and deep penetration, which also make it a fine choice for personal defense.

    8mm 150 Gr. SPT Pro-Hunter

    , ,
All modern 8mm rifles, including all German military arms manufactured since 1905, use .323 inch diameter bullets. However, German military rifles manufactured between 1888 and 1905 used a .318 inch diameter bullet. Many of those rifles were rebarreled to .323 inch bores after 1905, but some rifles of the smaller bore size were brought back from WWI and WWII and still exist. Some German sporting guns, particularly combination guns made until 1938, used 8mm cartridges with .318 inch diameter bullets. Sometimes, a .323 inch diameter bullet can be loaded and fired in a cartridge intended for a .318 inch groove diameter, but dangerously high chamber pressures result. If you do not know that your bore size is .323 inch, slug your barrel before loading .323 inch diameter bullets. There are two Pro-Hunter bullets in .323 inch caliber in Sierra's line and both are the Spitzer type. These 8mm hunting bullets provide exceptional accuracy together with deep penetration and reliable expansion on medium and heavier game. The 150 grain #2400 is an excellent choice for medium game at typical 8mm Mauser velocities, but it will be too destructive when used in the 8mm Remington Magnum.
